He was in Richmond for the Hokie Club dinner & I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with him.

I remember asking him directly if ESPN corporate ever suggested that he push a certain agenda. He said in all of his years in broadcasting, he had never been put in a situation like that by anyone he worked for. He also said that if that happened he would not work for that network. He did say he was only speaking for himself.
